COMMUNICATIONS WEEK 2018: POWER OF THE PACK
“Women alone can be powerful, but together, we can have impact.” — Shelley Zalis.
For women, it’s always about being more like men at work. In the 80s, it was about dressing like them, today it’s about negotiating like them — all without coming off too unlikeable, of course. Shelley Zalis, CEO of The Female Quotient and the creator of The Girls’ Lounge, is having none of that. To her, embracing our feminine characteristics is exactly what will make women stand out everywhere we want to succeed. But what will take for workplaces to truly agree — and benefit from gender equality? Zalis, who founded the Hollywood research firm OTX before selling it to Ipsos in 2010 for about $80 million, shares her thoughts from the inside and outside the corporate boardroom. Shelley will be interviewed by Judith Harrison, NYWICI President and Senior Vice President, Diversity & Inclusion at Weber Shandwick.
